Farfetch Affiliate Program Review [2024] Pros and Cons

We’re reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission.

Gucci. Louis. Fendi. Prada.

Make big commissions, then drink a pina colada.

That’s the dream, ay.

I’ll help you market these prestigious luxury brands with my Farfetch affiliate program review.

I promise to show you how to qualify for their program and I also promise to stop rhyming.

The average piece of apparel costs about $130 in the U.S.1, but luxury brands charge that much for one sock. The other sock is $400. That’s why you can make a killing with Farfetch!

The Farfetch affiliate program isn’t for everyone – but if you’re in the fashion niche, this program could be a gold mine full of platinum credit cards! Wait, what? OK let’s go.

What is The Farfetch Affiliate Program?

The Farfetch affiliate program is a way to earn commissions by promoting luxury goods on your blog or website or social media or YouTube. Most affiliate sources claim to make between 7% and 13% commission.

Fashion influencer Sophie Knight promoting an outfit with a Gucci bag and Celine belt.
Sophie Knight2 is a fashion influencer who promotes Gucci, Saint Laurent, and more. She would crush it with the Farfetch affiliate program, but she’s crushing it just fine with the LTK affiliate program.

I reached out to Farfetch to find out exactly how much they pay their affiliates, but have yet to get a response because they couldn’t hear me over the sound of clinking champagne glasses on their first-class flight to Milan.

I’m not personally a Farfetch affiliate because I don’t produce fashion or beauty content. Farfetch is strict like that, which is probably a good thing.

Farfetch is an online retailer that sells high-end fashion and beauty products.

When you promote Gucci bags and more with the Farfetch affiliate program, you’ll earn a generous commission.

Farfetch links up with top brands and boutiques, including Fendi, Prada, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton (check out this Louis Vuitton affiliate program review), giving fashion lovers around the world an easy way to shop for their favorite brands.

There’s one thing this Farfetch affiliate program review should make clear: The program isn’t for everybody. Farfetch says it wants to work with “innovative, fashion-forward, stylish websites and blogs and not with Scott from Touchdown Money.” That’s pretty specific, and hurtful.

But if you’re a fashion influencer or beauty influencer, the Farfetch affiliate program could be a major money-maker for you!

Farfetch sells womenswear, menswear, and kids wear.
With the Farfetch affiliate program, you can earn commissions by promoting beauty and fashion products.

Is The Farfetch Affiliate Program Legit?

The Farfetch affiliate program is totally legit and trustworthy.

Want proof? Consider these facts:

  • Farfetch is a major company that’s been in business since 2007.
  • Consumers generally love shopping with Farfetch (which is why the company has 4.3 stars on the review site Trustpilot).

As an affiliate, it’s always nice to work with a large, reputable company – and Farfetch definitely fits the bill!

My bill never fits properly, which is probably why they rejected my application. Just kidding, I didn’t get rejected. They didn’t even answer! So it’s quite possible that Farfetch customer service stinks.

If for some reason Farfetch doesn’t get back to you, consider the Bloomingdale’s affiliate program, Nordstrom affiliate program, or LTK affiliate program because they also let you promote Gucci, Burberry, Christian Dior, and more.

Is The Farfetch Affiliate Program Worth It?

After doing a lot of research for this Farfetch affiliate program review, here’s what I’ve decided: The program is worth it for anyone whose Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, pinterest, blog, website, Myspace, Tumblr, or Twitter / X already focuses on fashion, beauty, or luxury goods.

Here’s how to make money on Pinterest and how to make money on Facebook. I don’t know how to make money on Tumblr.

Signing up for the Farfetch affiliate program is completely free, so you have nothing to lose except a few minutes of your time for the application process.

Once you’re up and running, you’ll receive a commission on sales. And the fact that these are luxury products means you’ll earn more money from a smaller amount of sales.

When I went to the Farfetch website and checked what was “new in clothing,” the first item to come up was a dress that cost $1,280.

If someone bought that product after clicking through a link on your website, you’d earn $89.60 – on a single purchase! (Assuming you earned a 7% commission.)

The only problem with the Farfetch affiliate program is that it only works for a pretty specific niche.

Let’s say you run a blog titled “Helping Working Moms” or “Building the Ultimate Man-Cave.” Sure, moms might appreciate clothing suggestions, and man-cave owners need to decorate their spaces.

But your audience probably isn’t spending $1,000 on as many dresses, handbags, or decorative items as the typical international jet setter or Miami real estate agent.

If you’re wondering, how do rappers make money, I’d say focus on how they SPEND money – on the luxury brands they rap about like Gucci, Saint Laurent, Prada, and Hermes Birkin Bags.

So it’s all about knowing your audience. Think your readers and followers could dish out some serious cash on luxury items? Then, the Farfetch affiliate program is 100% worth trying.

And if not, you can still do affiliate marketing with another company. Check out this Samsung affiliate program review to learn about a different option. Or, this Temu affiliate program review is a much more budget-friendly option. Here are my other guides:

How Does The Farfetch Affiliate Program Work?

The basic model behind the Farfetch affiliate program is simple: You promote products through your blog, website, or social media accounts, and they pay you a commission on any sales that your promotion creates.

But you can’t just start sharing links right away. First, you have to apply for the program (which is completely free).

Here’s how the application process for the Farfetch affiliate program works:

  1. You email Farfetch at [email protected] and share the URL for your blog or website.
  2. They review your blog/site and decide if they want to work with you.
  3. Farfetch responds (within 7 days) with instructions for joining the program. Or they don’t respond at all, as happened to me. Instead, you can check out Bloomingdale’s affiliate program or LTK to promote Gucci and other luxury brands.

Once you’ve been accepted, you can start promoting Farfetch to get paid. When users click through a link you’ve published and go on to buy something from Farfetch, you’ll get a percentage of the sale price.

The Farfetch affiliate program has a 30-day “cookie window.” No, that’s not a drive-through where you can feed your chocolate chip addiction. This means that if someone clicks through your link, you’ll get credit for any sale they make in the next 30 days.

So, let’s say a reader on your website clicks an affiliate link that sends them to the Farfetch website. They decide not to buy something that day – but 3 weeks later, they make a purchase. Since that sale falls within the “cookie window,” you’ll still get your commission.

(30 days is a pretty generous cookie window. That’s part of the reason why this Farfetch affiliate program review is so positive!)

Farfetch also gives affiliates additional resources, including:

  • Daily product feeds to help with promotion
  • Collaboration on competitions and giveaways
  • Newsletters that will keep you informed on the latest products and features

All of this is designed to keep you in the loop – and to help you make more money through commissions!

You can use the Farfetch affiliate program to make money by promoting a variety of stylish products.

If you’re wondering, what can I sell to make money, try luxury brands from a trusted source like Farfetch.

What Is The Catch With The Farfetch Affiliate Program?

The closest thing to “catch” with the Farfetch affiliate program is that the company will review your blog or website before accepting you to the program. If they decide your online presence isn’t “fashion forward” enough, you could be denied. But applying is free, so why not try?

If you’re denied or ignored, try Bloomingdale’s affiliate program, Nordstrom’s affiliate program, or LTK’s affiliate program.

Is The Farfetch Affiliate Program Safe?

The Farfetch affiliate program is definitely safe to use. If I thought it was dangerous, I would have told you at the beginning of this Farfetch affiliate program review!

But what makes me so confident?

First of all, the entire affiliate marketing model is generally low-risk. It’s not like you have to make an initial investment and then count on making the money back. Joining the Farfetch affiliate program is totally free!

It’s also worth remembering that Farfetch is a massive company with a solid reputation. Famous brands like Prada and Louis Vuitton don’t hesitate to work with Farfetch – so you probably shouldn’t either!

If you want to keep your personal finances safe, it’s smart to use the best LLC service. This keeps your affiliate business separate from your personal banking. Having an LLC also makes your business more official when it comes to tax write-offs and so on.

This isn’t tax advice because I’m not a tax professional. But I can tell you I have LLCs for my businesses because it’s common sense and affordable.

It also makes sense to use a separate bank account for your business. Check out the best banks for small business.

Pros and Cons of The Farfetch Affiliate Program

This Farfetch affiliate program review has already shown that the program is legit and safe. Now, let’s take a deeper look by considering the pros and cons.

Pros

  • The commission rate is super generous. Just imagine – if somebody buys a $2,000 item like a handbag, you’ll get $140! (with a 7% commission rate)
  • There’s a 30-day cookie window. That means people can take plenty of time browsing the site or mulling a major purchase – and if they pull the trigger within 30 days, you’ll still get your commission.
  • Farfetch sells products with serious brand recognition. Gucci, Versace, Fendi, Prada, Louis Vuitton…these are companies people idolize. That makes them easy to promote.

Cons

  • Farfetch appeals to a niche audience. Your average Jillary-or-Josiah isn’t spending thousands of dollars on a handbag. This affiliate program only works if your audience is interested in buying luxury goods.
  • The company limits who can join. If Farfetch doesn’t think your site or blog is sufficiently stylish, you might get rejected. (Ouch – it’s like being turned away by the bouncer at a club!)

Overall, affiliate marketing is a terrific business to start with 10k or really with $0 if you know how to build an audience.

Farfetch Affiliate Program Reviews

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a Farfetch affiliate program review from an actual user.

But I did find a Reddit thread where someone asked if affiliate marketing (in general) was a scam. And they specifically mentioned Louis Vuitton, which is one of the brands you can promote if you become a Farfetch affiliate.

A Reddit thread of someone asking others if affiliate marketing is a scam.
Someone starts a Reddit thread asking, “Is affiliate marketing a scam?”

Someone responded by (correctly) stating that affiliate marketing isn’t a scam. They also explained why the system makes sense for companies.

A person on Reddit shares how affiliate marketing works.
A Redditor explains why affiliate marketing isn’t a scam.

Someone else shared their own experience with affiliate marketing. They said they made about $1,200 – $3,500 (per month, presumably).

A person on Reddit shares that they make $1200-$3500 more during the holiday season with affiliate marketing.
A Redditor describes their experience as an affiliate marketer.

Another user shared “simple rules” for affiliate marketing. They said you need “huge traffic,” and they suggested choosing “well-known brands with good affiliate programs.”

(While this person didn’t specifically mention Farfetch, I’d say it definitely counts as a “well-known brand!”)

A person on Reddit sharing that you must have a big audience and you must be a part of good affiliate programs to make money with affiliate marketing.
A Redditor suggests “2 simple rules” that affiliate marketers should follow.

Look, if you have an audience who desires and can afford luxury goods, it makes sense to apply to the Farfetch affiliate program, along with Bloomingdale’s affiliate program, Nordstrom affiliate program, and LTK. This way you can make money online selling Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent, and more.

Farfetch Affiliate Program Reviews BBB

Surprisingly, Farfetch gets an “F” grade from the Better Business Bureau (BBB). This grade stems from 265 complaints filed against the company in the past 3 years.

Farfetch also has 45 customer reviews on the BBB website, and they give the company an average of 1.04 stars.

Okay, let’s be real. The Farfetch page on the BBB website makes for some grim reading.

But none of these complaints relate to the affiliate program.

If the BBB site featured a negative Farfetch affiliate program review (or worse – lots of them), then I’d be worried. But as it stands, I’d say the Farfetch affiliate program is still worth trying.

And remember, Farfetch has a great rating on TrustPilot. And Farfetch has 3.8 stars out of 5 from 439 reviews on Google. Most of the bad Farfetch reviews are from customers who dislike Farfetch’s customer service.

Farfetch Affiliate Program Commission?

Most sources claim the Farfetch affiliate program has a 7% to 13% commission. It also gives you a 30-day cookie window – meaning you’ll earn that commission as long as the user makes the purchase within 30 days of clicking through your affiliate link.

Farfetch Affiliate Program Gucci?

The Farfetch affiliate program lets you earn a commission by promoting products from a wide range of luxury brands – including Gucci. The Farfetch website lists Gucci products like sandals, shirts, and (of course!) handbags.

A small Gucci Luce shoulder bag on sale for $3,909.
Your 7% Farfetch commission on this Gucci bag would be $273.63.
Black Double G Gucci leather sandals on sale for $1,420.
And your Farfetch Gucci commission on whatever this is supposed to be is $99.40. Looks like what you wear to the beach when you step out of your lunar capsule on the moon.

Is The Farfetch Affiliate Program a Scam?

The Farfetch affiliate program is a legitimate way to make money by promoting luxury products online. You earn commissions, and the company attracts new customers at very little cost. So it’s not a scam. It’s a good deal for everyone involved!

Affiliate marketing is a legit way:

Yes, for real. But you have to take it seriously.

Affiliate marketing is also one of the best low-cost business ideas with high profit. And it’s one of the most profitable online businesses, period.

I worked for a married couple who owned and operated an affiliate marketing blog. When they put their online business for sale they made millions of dollars. I also worked for another person who made most of his money with affiliate marketing and that totaled $50,000 a month or more.

Affiliate marketing even works if you do it part-time (although you can’t expect to make $100,000 dollars or more that way). Here are hobbies to make money.

Farfetch Affiliate Program Requirements?

Farfetch is looking for “innovative, fashion-forward, stylish websites and blogs” to join its affiliate program. That means you need an existing website or blog that relates to fashion or luxury goods. To apply, email your site’s URL to Farfetch ([email protected]).

Farfetch seems to really favor websites and blogs over social media. I’m a huge believer in making a website and email list. Because social media algorithms can and will change, don’t lose touch with the audience that you worked so hard to get!

You can stay in touch forever when you have their email addresses and a website they can always find.

If you want to research about building your website and email list, check out:

How Much Does Farfetch Pay Affiliates?

Many sources report that Farfetch pays affiliates between 7% and 13% commission. This is a good affiliate commission, especially because this is a luxury retailer. Lots of items on the Farfetch website cost thousands of dollars, so you could make hundreds of dollars with a single sale.

Affiliate marketing with Farfetch is a great way how to make more money.
