Revolve Affiliate Program Review [2024] Ambassador Approval Process

We’re reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission.

With the Revolve Ambassador program, you earn an incredible 15% commission! With the Revolve affiliate program, you earn a 5% commission.

I’ll explain these two different programs and who Revolve approves for each.

Did you know that 14.9% of all retail sales happen online?1 Get your cut as a fashion influencer or lifestyle content creator!

In this Revolve affiliate program review, I’ll explain the approval process and requirements.

What Is The Revolve Affiliate Program?

The Revolve Affiliate program is a way to earn commissions by sharing affiliate links for the fashion retailer Revolve.

In a busy fashion industry, Revolve stands out by marketing itself towards Millenials and Gen Z.

So, here’s something my Revolve affiliate program review can say clearly: This is a great opportunity for anyone with a fashion blog or social media that targets a younger audience.

Revolve fashion models.
Whether your clothing haul includes a dress that makes you look like a human seashell or shoes that make your heel itchy, you’ll earn money promoting Revolve.

As a Revolve affiliate, you’ll post content that includes links to the Revolve website. When people click your link and go on to make a purchase, you’ll get a share of the profits.

Revolve offers a 5% commission rate and a 7-day “cookie window.” This is better than, say, the Amazon 2% commission rate on fashion, but not as good as the Revolve Ambassador program which pays a 15% commission.

Best sellers on the online retail website, Revolve.
With the Revolve affiliate program, you can earn 5% commissions on clothing, shoes, beauty products, accessories, and of course Norma Kamali Cayla Side Drape Gowns.

What Is The Revolve Ambassador Program?

The Revolve Ambassador program gives fashion influencers a chance to earn money by promoting Revolve products on their accounts.

You’ll include a link in your posts so that your followers can buy the products themselves. When someone clicks through your link and buys something from Revolve, you’ll earn a commission.

The commission rate for Revolve ambassadors is 15% if you request cash and 20% if you opt for store credit.

What Is The Difference Between The Revolve Affiliate Program or Brand Ambassador / Revolve Affiliate Program vs Brand Ambassador

Before digging deeper into this Revolve affiliate program review, I need to make something clear: The Revolve affiliate program and the Revolve ambassador program are completely different things.

Here’s what sets the two programs apart:

  • Intended members. The ambassador program is for fashion influencers, while the affiliate program is easier to get into.
  • Commission rate. The ambassador program pays 15% (or 20% in store credit); the affiliate program pays 5%.
  • Platform used. Revolve seems to handle the ambassador program itself, while the affiliate program runs through the Commission Junction (“CJ”) platform.

So, if you’re a popular influencer, try applying with the Revolve ambassador program. That’s the best way to maximize your earnings.

But if you’re an affiliate marketer without a glamorous social media presence, go for the Revolve affiliate program. You can always apply for the Revolve Ambassador program after you grow your social media following.

Is The Revolve Affiliate Program Legit?

The Revolve affiliate program is definitely legit. Revolve itself is a reputable company with 18 years of history and over 1,000 brands under its umbrella.

And the program runs through Commission Junction (now called “CJ”), which is a major name in the affiliate marketing world.

CJ:

  • Partners with over 3,800 global brands
  • Works with over 167,000 content publishers
  • Reaches billions of consumers

This is a real-deal operation.

The details of the Revolve affiliate program are also legit. A 5% commission rate and a 7-day cookie window are competitive rates in the fashion industry.

The Revolve ambassador program is a legit way for influencers to make money.

As an influencer, you want to work with big brands that have a strong reputation. Well, in the fashion industry, Revolve is about as big as it gets.

Your followers will be pretty impressed that you’re working with a company as famous as Revolve. And when you partner with legit brands, you get more cred as an influencer.

Is The Revolve Affiliate Program Worth It?

The Revolve affiliate program is totally worth it for anyone with a website or blog that’s related to fashion.

There are two reasons my Revolve affiliate program review is so enthusiastic:

  • The 5% commission rate is super solid. It’s also consistent, so you don’t have to juggle different rates for different products.
  • The 7-day cookie window is completely fair. You’ll earn your commission as long as someone makes a purchase within a week of clicking your link.

If your website has nothing to do with clothes or style, the Revolve affiliate program probably isn’t a good fit. Maybe try promoting tech-related products instead (read my Samsung affiliate program review for ideas).

But if your site is fashion-forward, then applying for the Revolve affiliate program is an obvious move. Why leave potential earnings on the table?

Is The Revolve Ambassador Program Worth It?

The Revolve ambassador program is worth it for committed influencers who are passionate about fashion.

The numbers here speak for themselves. A 15% commission? And 20% if you choose store credit? You won’t see those types of rates with most affiliate programs!

But becoming a Revolve Ambassador isn’t easy.

Before taking the time to apply, make sure that the Revolve ambassador program is a realistic target. Are you a fashion fanatic? Do you put serious effort into your social media posts? Then, you’re probably a good candidate!

This is the Revolve Ambassador acceptance message you want to see! Fashion influencer Rosa Diana was accepted into the Revolve ambassador program with 73,000 TikTok followers, 6,000 Instagram followers, and 3,000 YouTube subscribers.3

Are you a 50-year-old dude with a plumber’s crack? Then, there are probably better ways to make money online. (No disrespect intended – there are plenty of opportunities out there for people with a “Larry the Cable Guy “ aesthetic!)

How Does The Revolve Affiliate Program Work?

The Revolve affiliate program uses a standard model: Affiliates share links on their websites, and they earn commissions when users click their link and go on to buy products.

But I want this Revolve affiliate program review to break things down further, so here’s the step-by-step process for making money as a Revolve affiliate:

  1. Head to the “Affiliate” page of the official Revolve website.
  2. Click the “Commission Junction” link at the bottom of the page.
  3. Create a CJ (“Commision Junction”) account. CJ is the platform that the Revolve affiliate program runs on.
  4. Get accepted – meaning you can start posting affiliate links on your website!
  5. Publish content that features affiliate links to the Revolve website.
  6. Earn commissions when people click the links and buy products.

As a Revolve affiliate, your job is to produce content that will get people to click through to the Revolve website and then buy things. This content can include product reviews, collages, or whatever comes to mind! You’re the creative brain behind all of this.

Whenever someone buys a Revolve product within 7 days of clicking your link, you’ll earn a 5% commission.

And Revolve offers some additional resources to make this process easier, including:

  • A product catalog (with hi-res photos) that’s available in the CJ portal
  • Updates on current offers
  • Stylish banners that you can publish on your site

Both you (as an affiliate) and Revolve are pursuing the same goal: Getting people to buy Revolve products. That means they’re incentivized to help you through the process!

How To Become a Revolve Ambassador?

In theory, becoming a Revolve ambassador is a simple 3-step process:

  1. Head to the “Ambassadors” page on the official Revolve website.
  2. Click “Apply Today”
  3. Provide basic information and link to your social channels, then click “submit.”

But remember, the Revolve ambassador program is super competitive. That means you should take additional steps to increase your chances of getting approved.

Here are tips for getting into the Revolve ambassador program:

  • Publish lots of posts that showcase Revolve outfits.
  • Hone in on a specific niche (for example, fashion or something even more specific, like “clothes for traveling”).
  • Share high-quality images and posts.
  • Exude enthusiasm and passion – especially for items that come from Revolve.

Put this advice into action before applying. That way, when Revolve checks out your social media presence, they’ll think, “Wow! We have to sign this person up now!”

What is The Catch With The Revolve Affiliate Program?

The only “catch” with the Revolve Affiliate Program is that the commissions max out at 5%. That’s actually a pretty fair rate, but it’s lower than the 15% rate that’s available for influencers in the Revolve ambassador program.

What is The Catch With The Revolve Ambassador Program?

The closest thing to a catch with the Revolve ambassador program is that not everyone can join. You have to apply through the Revolve website, and then they’ll decide whether to accept your application. That’s why it’s best to spiff up your social media accounts before applying.

Is The Revolve Affiliate Program Safe?

The Revolve affiliate program is completely safe to use. It runs on the CJ (formerly “Commission Junction”) platform – which is a reputable company that works with over 3,800 global brands. So there’s nothing sketchy about it.

Another good sign is that CJ only collects “pseudonymous” personal information – meaning your name won’t be attached to it. It’s always nice when a company actually prioritizes user privacy.

The Revolve affiliate program is great for people who know how to make money on Pinterest.

Is The Revolve Ambassador Program Safe?

The Revolve Ambassador Program is completely safe for influencers.

Revolve itself is a trustworthy company, and they don’t seem to outsource the management of its ambassador program. So, there shouldn’t be any sketchy outsiders peering into your business.

Now, Revolve does collect personal information, but at least they’re open about it in their privacy policy. And, like it or not, this type of data collection is pretty standard with today’s online programs.

Speaking of safety, if you want to keep your personal assets safe, it’s smart to create an LLC. I have.

Pros and Cons of The Revolve Affiliate Program

It’s time for this Revolve affiliate program review to present a simple list of pros and cons. Take a look at this breakdown before applying for the program!

Pros:

  • There’s a 7-day cookie window. When someone clicks on a Revolve affiliate link on your website, you’ll get a commission as long as they buy something within 7 days.
  • The 5% commission rate is consistent. Some affiliate programs change the rate according to the product, but Revolve keeps it simple.
  • Revolve uses the reputable CJ platform to run its affiliate program. These folks know how to make life easier for affiliates.

Cons:

  • There are no opportunities for higher commissions. Some affiliate programs offer a higher rate for big purchases – but not Revolve.
  • There’s no guarantee you’ll be approved. You don’t just “sign up” for the Revolve Affiliate Program. You “apply.”
  • The niche is pretty specific. Revolve markets itself towards Millennial and Gen Z fashionistas. If that’s not your audience, you’re better off choosing different affiliate programs. Check out my Temu affiliate program review for other options.

Pros and Cons of The Revolve Ambassador Program

The Revolve ambassador program might seem like an influencer’s dream come true – but it can’t be perfect, right?

No, it’s not perfect. But it’s still pretty good! Read this full list of pros and cons.

Pros:

  • The commission rate is fantastic. You’ll earn 15% of what your followers spend after clicking through your links.
  • You can earn even more in-store credit. If you opt for credit instead of cash, your commission rate will rise to 20%.
  • Revolve is a popular brand. It should be easier for you to promote a company that your followers already love.

Cons:

  • It can be tough to be accepted into the program. You’ll have to link your social channels when you apply, and you’ll only get it if the Revolve employees like what they see.
  • You can’t promote any old Revolve product. Revolve will give you specific “eligible product links” to choose from.
  • You’ll need to devote serious time and energy to your posts. The life of an influencer might look easy, but it requires a lot of hard work.

A drawback of nearly every fashion affiliate program or ambassador program is that you have to wait for your commissions. One reason is that your followers might return their purchase. So Revolve has to wait until the return window has closed in order to make the sale final and pay you your percentage.

Revolve Affiliate Program Reviews

I scoured the web looking for a Revolve affiliate program review that was clearly written by an actual affiliate and I couldn’t find one!

But I did find plenty of reviews for CJ, which is the platform Revolve uses to run its affiliate program.

Someone left a 4-star CJ review on Trustpilot, writing that the affiliate network is “easy for publishers to use.”

In a CJ review, someone says the affiliate platform does an “overall good job.”

There were also some scathing 1-star reviews. One person called CJ a “completely inaccessible company.”

Remember, this is a review for CJ. It’s not specifically a Revolve affiliate program review.
