What Is The Walmart Affiliate Program?
The Walmart Affiliate Program is a way to make money by promoting Walmart products with your content.
Just sign up for the Walmart affiliate program and then post content that includes Walmart banner ads and affiliate links.
When users click the links and buy products from the Walmart website, you’ll earn a commission. The Walmart affiliate commission rate is up to 4%.
Walmart has a 3-day cookie duration. That means when someone clicks your link, even if they don’t buy right away, if they buy within 3 days, you’ll get credited with a commission.
You can sign up for the Walmart Affiliate Program and start promoting products in a single day. Not many affiliate programs have that kind of turnaround! So, if you’re eager to start making money online, this is the way to do it.

What Is The Walmart Creator Program?
The Walmart Creator Program is designed for influencers (or aspiring influencers) who want to promote Walmart products for commissions.
The idea here is simple: You’ll apply for the program, and if you get in, you’ll post content on social media that shows off Walmart products. When people click your links and spend money, you’ll earn commissions.
Walmart Creators also get their own digital storefront, which is basically a personalized shop with your favorite products from Walmart.
While you do have to apply for the program (which implies that not everyone gets in), the Walmart Creator program seems more accessible than most influencer programs. There is no minimum follower count for the Walmart Creator Program! That’s why this is such a cool opportunity for influencers who are just starting out.
I’ll share more details for creators throughout my Walmart Affiliate Program review.
Extra Point: If you’re relying on social media algorithms to be seen, don’t! Be sure to control your destiny! Email your followers by getting the best email marketing software and the best website builder. Find out more in my solopreneur marketing guide.
What Is The Difference Between The Walmart Affiliate Program and The Walmart Creator Program / Walmart Affiliate Program vs Walmart Creator Program
The main difference between the Walmart Affiliate Program and the Walmart Creator Program is the intended membership:
- The Walmart Affiliate Program is for blogs and websites. If you’re hoping to promote Walmart products on your site, this is the program for you.
- The Walmart Creator Program is for social media influencers. If you’re trying to get Insta-famous (or, more importantly, Insta-rich!), you’ll want to be a “creator,” not just an affiliate.
I’ll be talking about both programs in this Walmart Affiliate Program review.
Is The Walmart Affiliate Program Legit?
The Walmart Affiliate Program is totally legit.
We’re talking about Walmart here. It’s by far the biggest retailer in the world1 (yes, it’s even bigger than Amazon). These aren’t no-name scammers who are going to rip off their affiliates.
Walmart also uses the Impact Radius platform to run its affiliate program, which means the user experience should be solid.
No, Impact isn’t quite as popular as you might hope (it gets 1.4 stars on Trustpilot), but it’s still designed specifically for affiliate programs. That means that, as a Walmart affiliate, you can expect to get valuable insights from the Impact Radius platform.
Is The Walmart Creator Program Legit?
The Walmart Creator Program is totally legit. After all, it’s run by Walmart – the biggest retailer in the United States.
The one concern with the Walmart Creator Program is that some people report not hearing back after sending in their applications.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that the Walmart influencers program isn’t legit. In fact, it kind of suggests the opposite – that the program is so legit that tons of people want to join it, and that’s why it takes them so long to respond to applications.
Is The Walmart Affiliate Program Worth It?
Here’s the grand conclusion of my Walmart Affiliate Program review: The program is worth it for almost anyone with a blog or website.
I don’t recommend most affiliate programs to “almost anyone.” But this isn’t your average affiliate program. It’s the affiliate program for Walmart.com, a website where you can buy practically anything. So, no matter the focus of your blog or website, you can find Walmart products to promote.
And I know that the early days of running a business can be stressful. That’s why I wrote this guide on how to make money online for beginners.
Is The Walmart Creator Program Worth It?
The Walmart Creator Program (which serves as the Walmart influencer program) is definitely worth applying to – even if you can’t count on immediate income. And it’s an especially attractive option for anyone who’s just starting out as an influencer.
The Walmart Creator Program doesn’t have a minimum follower requirement, and Walmart says even “aspiring creators” are welcome to apply. That’s a refreshing change, considering that uber-competitive programs make it sound like you have to be a Kardashian to have a chance of getting in!
But the Walmart influencer program might not accept you quickly (and, of course, there’s no guarantee they’ll accept you at all).
That’s why applying to the program is a no-brainer, but you can’t count on earning commissions in the weeks or months ahead. It’s a long road, but a promising one!
How Does The Walmart Affiliate Program Work?
The Walmart Affiliate Program works by paying commissions for sales that come through an affiliate’s website. As an affiliate, you’ll post content about Walmart, and if people click the links or banners and go on to make purchases within 3 days (that’s the “cookie window”), you’ll get a share of the sale price up to 4%.
Interested in being a Walmart affiliate? Here’s how to apply:
- Head to the affiliates page of the official Walmart website.
- Click the blue button that says “Sign up.”
- Complete the application form by providing basic information about how you plan to promote Walmart online.
Walmart brags about having “the fastest approval process,” and you know what? They might be right! They say you could get approved for their affiliate program within a day, which is way faster than most companies can claim.
Instead of running its own affiliate program, Walmart uses Impact Radius, a reputable affiliate market platform. This is great news for affiliates. It means you can track data about sales, impressions, and clicks on a single online portal.
Walmart also goes above and beyond providing support for affiliates. Once you’re accepted, you’ll have access to:
- A weekly newsletter with banners, links, and products that you can post on your site.
- The Affiliate Member Center, which gives you more links and banners, as well as data you can use to expand your audience and boost your sales.
- Support from Walmart’s Affiliate Account team.
- Additional tools provided by Impact Radius (which allow you to take a data-driven approach to affiliate marketing).
And what’s your role in all of this? To create killer content that will attract readers and then get them to spend money on Walmart.com!
There’s no single way to do that, and this Walmart Affiliate Program review doesn’t offer any magical formulas (if I had them, I’d share them!). It’s on you to decide how you can market Walmart products to readers in your specific niche.
But make sure you’re choosing the right products to promote. Products in different categories have different commission rates. And while the highest possible rate is 4%, there are products that earn as little as 1%. Sure, a 1% commission could work out if you get a lot of sales, but common sense says you should try to promote high-earning products.
Speaking of earnings, it’s time for this Walmart Affiliate Program review to look at how you’ll actually get paid.
The commissions are paid on a monthly basis, but you don’t get commissions for a certain month until 90 days after that month has ended. Let’s say you earned $2,000 in commissions during the month of May. You won’t get that money until 90 days after May is over (so towards the end of August).
If you’re consistently earning commissions, you’ll still get paid every month. The payments will just always be about 3 months behind (meaning you’ll get paid now for the commissions you earned 3 months ago).
I know this is frustrating. No one likes to wait months for their hard-earned money. But unfortunately, these delays are pretty common in the world of retail affiliate programs.
How To Become a Walmart Creator?
The Walmart Affiliate Program is great and all – but maybe you’re after something more glamorous (and potentially more lucrative). Maybe you’ve got an entrepreneur’s mind and a supermodel’s attitude. Maybe you’re born to be an influencer.
Welcome, my friend, to the Walmart Creator Program (aka the Walmart Influencer program)!
Here’s how to become a Walmart Creator:
- Go to the Creator page of the official Walmart website.
- Click “Apply Now.”
- Create a Walmart account (if you don’t already have one).
- Complete the Walmart Creator Program application.
- Wait to see if you’re accepted.
It’s tough to say how likely it is you’ll be accepted into the Walmart influencer program.
On the one hand, Walmart says it “welcomes creators from all backgrounds and categories – no minimum follower count required.” But they also say they’ve “received a large number of applications,” and they thank applicants for their “patience.”
So, it seems you have a good chance of getting into the Walmart Creator Program – but you might have to wait a while.
What Is The Catch With The Walmart Affiliate Program?
The main catch with the Walmart Affiliate Program is that they’re not totally transparent about their commission rates. They say commissions range from 1% to 4%, and they brag about their “transparent commission-rate tables,” but when you go to the page that supposedly has these tables, they’re not there.
What Is The Catch With The Walmart Creator Program?
The catch with the Walmart Creator Program is it can take a long time to hear back after applying. Walmart asks applicants to be patient. But people commonly claim they’re getting “the runaround.”
Is The Walmart Affiliate Program Safe?
The Walmart Affiliate Program is completely safe. Here’s my evidence:
- Walmart.com gets an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau.
- The program is run through the Impact Radius platform, which gets 4.5 stars on the review site G2.
- I can’t find any reports of scams related to the Walmart Affiliate Program.
To be clear, the Walmart Affiliate Program does collect user data. I’ve read through the company’s privacy agreement, and there’s nothing suspicious there. Basically, Walmart uses people’s data to improve its business practices, just as almost every other major company does.
Is The Walmart Creator Program Safe?
Applying to the Walmart Creator Program is definitely safe. Yes, you’re working with an online retailer – which means they’ll be collecting and using your data. But there’s nothing inherently dangerous about that.
And I can’t find any negative news stories about the Walmart influencer program. This is Walmart we’re talking about here. If they were in the habit of scamming influencers, I think the media would be reporting on it!

Walmart Affiliate Program Pros and Cons
Let’s take this Walmart Affiliate Program review to the next level. How? By examining the good, the bad, and the ugly. Thankfully, I couldn’t find any ugly! Except for these pants:
Walmart Affiliate Program Pros:
- Applicants are often approved the same day they apply. That means you can complete your application, go off for a day of laser tag with your friends, and be part of the program when you’re back!
- Walmart offers a super wide variety of products. Close your eyes and imagine something, anything. Odds are, Walmart.com sells it (yes, even skeleton-hand backscratchers).
- You get tons of resources. Walmart and the Impact Radius platform give you everything you need, including stylish banner ads that you can post on your site.
Walmart Affiliate Program Cons:
- The cookie window is just 3 days. When someone clicks an affiliate link or banner on your site, you’ll only get a commission if they buy something within 72 hours.
- It can take months to get paid. Your commissions might not arrive until 3 months after you’ve earned them.
- The commission rates (1% – 4%) aren’t the best. And before signing up, there’s no way to know exactly which products will give you higher commissions.
Walmart sells products in nearly every category. So whether you want to know how to start a pet care blog and monetize it by promoting pet food, dog treats, and cat toys, or you teach people hobbies to make money, you’ll be able to make money with the Walmart affiliate program.
Walmart Creator Program Pros and Cons
The Walmart influencer program is super smooth, like ice cream. But it does have a few flaws where your ice cream cone scoop can plop on the sidewalk. Let’s look at those pros and cons up close.
Walmart Creator Program Pros:
- There’s no follower requirement. That means you could get accepted into the program even if you’re just starting out as an influencer.
- You’ll get to create a Walmart “Storefront.” This is a digital space where you can promote your own selection of Walmart products.
- You’ll have tons of products to choose from. Into fashion? Beauty? Fitness? With Walmart, it shouldn’t matter. They’ll have products that match your niche.
Walmart Creator Program Cons:
- There’s no guarantee you’ll be accepted. Walmart invites you to “apply” for this program, not “sign up.” This implies you might not get in.
- It can take a while to hear back. Walmart says they’ve received a lot of applications, and so they appreciate people’s patience.
- Walmart doesn’t post details about commission rates. How much can you really make through the Walmart Creator Program? Probably a decent amount (non-official sources say up to 18%), but it would be nice if Walmart stated their rates upfront.
For social media influencers, you can’t lose by trying out the Walmart Creator Program as a way to make money online. I order from Walmart.com all the time, and it’s reliable. People order from Walmart for low prices and a trustworthy experience. So you can feel safe promoting a brand backed by decades of success.

Walmart Affiliate Program Reviews
I found a recent Reddit thread where someone asked how to join the Walmart Affiliate Program.
The post is basically an informal Walmart Affiliate Program review. The person said they didn’t receive any emails from Walmart after signing up for the program online, and they couldn’t sign into their account.
Another person responded by saying the same thing had happened to them.
I still think the Walmart Affiliate Program is legit, but it’s useful to know that people run into these problems during the sign-up process.
In another Reddit post, someone left a short Walmart Affiliate Program review. They said they were “getting around 10 clicks a day,” but they still hadn’t made any sales.
Someone responded with a helpful Walmart Affiliate Program review. They argued that the original poster should “reframe their thoughts” and focus specifically on getting users to buy products, rather than simply encouraging them to click the affiliate links.
Walmart Creator Program Reviews
Someone on Reddit recently asked, “Anyone hear of the Walmart Creator Program?” They said the website looked legit, but they wanted more information.
Someone responded by saying they’d gotten “the runaround” from the Walmart influencer program. Apparently, they’d signed up – only to be asked to sign up again and again without ever actually getting in.
Another user reported having a similar experience. They applied for the program, but then they “never heard anything.” This made them wonder if Walmart “only wants huge influencers that already have a large following.”
Someone else pointed out that Walmart claims to welcome creators of any size. (I can confirm this is true). On its website, Walmart says there is no minimum follower requirement for its Creator Program.
